Another dice game, you say. No big fuss, you say… Well, it is a bit more than just that. Qwinto combines the color of the dice with the number of pips rolled to score points. Each turn, you decide which dice to roll, choosing up to 3 colors (yellow, orange and purple). The result of your roll must be written on a row of a matching color on your score sheet.
There are a couple of basic rules to be respected when entering the result: the values must be in ascending order from left to right in a row. Duplicates are not allowed, so no numbers can appear twice, in a row or a column. Placement of your result is key as you can only pass 4 times, also known as failed attempts, following those rules.
The game finishes when a player has filled out 2 colored rows or when a player records 4 failed attempts. Then you check the score sheets and the players with the most points wins.
So, we have colors, rows, columns, failed attempts, ascending numbers, no duplicates and because developers are nice they leave the final scoring to BGA, one less thing to be concerned with. And we forgot to mention pentagons, but we will let you figure this one out… So, Qwinto is definitely more than just a dice game. And it was included in the list of Spiel des Jahres recommended games upon release.

Qwinto: kauliņu spēļu Rolls Rows
Vēl viena kauliņu spēle, jūs sakāt. Nekāda liela kņada, jūs sakāt… Nu, tas ir nedaudz vairāk nekā tikai tas. Qwinto apvieno kauliņu krāsu ar uzmesto punktu skaitu, lai iegūtu punktus. Katrā gājienā jūs izlemjat, kurus kauliņus mest, izvēloties līdz 3 krāsām (dzeltenu, oranžu un violetu). Jūsu metiena rezultāts jāieraksta atbilstošas krāsas rindā jūsu rezultātu lapā.
Ievadot rezultātu, jāievēro pāris pamatnoteikumi: vērtībām rindā jābūt augošā secībā no kreisās uz labo. Dublikāti nav atļauti, tāpēc skaitļi nedrīkst parādīties divreiz ne rindā, ne kolonnā. Rezultāta izvietojums ir ļoti svarīgs, jo, ievērojot šos noteikumus, varat nokārtot tikai 4 reizes, kas tiek sauktas arī par neveiksmīgiem mēģinājumiem.
Spēle beidzas, kad spēlētājs ir aizpildījis 2 krāsainas rindas vai kad spēlētājs reģistrējis 4 neveiksmīgus mēģinājumus. Pēc tam jāpārbauda rezultātu lapas, un uzvar spēlētājs ar visvairāk punktiem.
Tātad, mums ir krāsas, rindas, kolonnas, neveiksmīgi mēģinājumi, augoši skaitļi, nav dublikātu, un, tā kā izstrādātāji ir jauki, viņi galīgo vērtēšanu atstāj BGA ziņā, par vienu lietu mazāk, par ko uztraukties. Un mēs aizmirsām pieminēt piecstūrus, bet mēs ļausim jums to izdomāt… Tātad, Qwinto noteikti ir vairāk nekā tikai kauliņu spēle.
