In The Last Droids, you are an Ecomechanic, a sort of robot repairman in a New World, a world of depleted natural resources. Your goal: to help humanity survive by repairing, recycling or constructing pieces of robots from the Old World. You have to select the best droid wrecks, manage your resources and build the most efficient collection!
Every turn, you draw 2 droids cards and then choose which droid to give to your opponent, and which to keep. Then, you choose to recycle or repair your Droid, or to sacrifice it to build a House. There are 7 types of droids cards, each with unique abilities: water management, harvest, communication, collection, market, shed or house.
The game is made of seasons of 8 turns and it finishes after 3 seasons. At the end of the third season, or when all the House Droids have been built, the Ecomechanic with the most Recycling Points is granted the Medal of the Order of the Leaf, the ultimate distinction.

Spēlē Pēdējie droīdi jūs esat ekomehāniķis, sava veida robotu remontētājs Jaunajā Pasaulē, pasaulē ar noplicinātiem dabas resursiem. Jūsu mērķis: palīdzēt cilvēcei izdzīvot, remontējot, pārstrādājot vai konstruējot robotu detaļas no Vecās Pasaules. Jums jāizvēlas labākās droīdu vraki, jāpārvalda savi resursi un jāveido visefektīvākā kolekcija!
Katrā gājienā tu izvelc 2 droīdu kārtis un pēc tam izvēlies, kuru droīdu atdot pretiniekam un kuru paturēt. Pēc tam izvēlies pārstrādāt vai salabot savu droīdu, vai arī upurēt to, lai uzceltu māju. Ir 7 droīdu kāršu veidi, katram no tiem ir unikālas spējas: ūdens apsaimniekošana, ražas novākšana, komunikācija, savākšana, tirgus, šķūnis vai māja.
Spēle sastāv no 8 gājienu sezonām, un tā beidzas pēc 3 sezonām. Trešās sezonas beigās vai kad ir uzbūvēti visi mājas droīdi, ekomehāniķim ar visvairāk pārstrādes punktiem tiek piešķirta Lapu ordeņa medaļa, kas ir augstākais apbalvojums.
